A most unusual fate for one of East Germany’s loved and hated little cars
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
I suppose there was very little metal on the body at least, so they have not rusted to pieces. And with an electric motor, they don’t leave behind a cloud of smoke any more! 🙂
The world’s first production cars with fiberglass bodies… out of necessity! The company that owns this one has about a hundred regular ones on hand, both as a display and for Trabi tours of Berlin.
