A serpentarium in Blankenberge, Belgium is closing and seeking homes for the 200 animals who have called it home. Years of fiscal difficulties came to a head with last year’s crisis, which kept it closed for nearly a year.
The Royal Zoological Society of Antwerp, which supervises ZOO Serpentarium, originally a private collection, expects most will go to other zoos around the area, but is looking for homes for others. Four employees will also be laid off.
But look at that fellow in the picture: If you can’t give him a home, would you at least let him sell you insurance?
