2014 not a good year for Airline performance

While 2013 was a good year for airlines, performance metrics declined across the board in 2014.  The industry performed worse in four key areas — baggage handling, consumer complaints, denied boardings, and on-time arrivals.  Besides the broad trend, most of the 12 individual airlines in the report saw declines.  Bad weather played a part, but it's not likely it was the full story.
