Airbnb is 'Getting Really Serious' About the Chinese Market

Airbnb announced it would work with the Chinese venture capital firms China Broadband Capital and Sequoia China to increase Airbnb's local presence in China. Their first task will be to recruit a CEO for Airbnb China. In the past year, outbound travel from Chinese guests through Airbnb has grown 700%.

Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said this in an interview about the Chinese Market:

“The last year and a half has really been us dipping our toe in the water, learning about the culture, trying to even validate. Would the Chinese people even want to use Airbnb? Now we’re getting really serious.”
