All 7 continents on round-the-world cruise

Holland-America, which has been doing ambitious around-the-world cruises in recent years has topped itself with a new one, set for 2026, that will last 132 days and include all seven of the world’s continents.

It’s 19 days longer than the last time the line did a round-the-world that included both northern Europe and South America, which add considerable north-south distance to the cruise. This one will cruise down the east coast of South America with a number of stops and then continue on to Antarctica before heading diagonally back to northern Europe.

The ship for the cruise, Volendam, is one of the line’s smallest. In the course of its trip it will stop at 47 ports in 39 countries, starting from Fort Lauderdale on January 4, 2026.
