American Cruise Lines, which specializes in small-ship river and coastal cruises, has ordered another two ships for its East Coast operations, to be delivered in 2026. They will be near twins of two that will enter service next year.
The two new ships, named American Maverick and American Ranger, will be fully-stabilized for smooth sailing on coastal voyages. Each can take 128 passengers in 56 staterooms. New features, compared to mates American Patriot and Pioneer, are a top-deck Sky Lounge with a walking track and a casual cafe.
American Cruise Lines fleet will reach 24 with the new vessels, with four more to go in the line's 'Project Blue.' The ships are a mixture of river and coastal vessels, and include river paddle-wheelers formerly operated by bankrupt American Queen.
