In case you were wondering, that’s not a movie horror tool; it’s designed to quickly snip large quantities of herbs to size for restaurant kitchens. They’re at E. Dehillerin in Paris, near the old Les Halles. For me, it’s a stop on every trip to Paris.
It’s an amazing place, filled with kitchen wares of nearly every sort, from tiny tools to stockpots big enough to stand in. It’s where I buy the inexpensive but wonderful carbon-steel knives I can’t live without.
It’s not a glitzy store, and everything is on open shelves or bins; its main audience is professional cooks who buy in bulk although the staff are super-friendly to amateurs like me who visit, marvel, and buy small.
