August 4, 2017: Marmitte dei Gigante, Nago, Italy

These features of glacial origin were formed by the waters of the glacier, which crashed into crevices causing a swirling motion of pebbles that slowly eroded the rock. The Giants’ Marbles accompany other glacial monuments in the area, such as glacial jumping, rocky, streaked and smooth rocks. The main wells are located near the scenic road overlooking the lake that connects Nago to Torbole. In prehistoric times they were inhabited, as evidenced by the discovery of some arrowheads and fragments of ceramics dating from the 4th to the 3rd millennium BC.
