Barcelona: Sometimes TOO many tourists at market

Barcelona, which continues to be one of the hottest European cities for visitors, has locals who sometimes feel a little crowded out…especially at their favorite food market, La Bouqueria. The result: during the Friday and Saturday shopping rush hours, visiting groups of 15 or more are asked to leave and come back another time.

 

Barcelona has more than 20 market halls in neighborhoods all over the city, including Santa Caterina, near La Bouqueria, but some products and selection are only there or are best there, according to some.

 

Tough decisions for a city that both prides itself on how hot a destination it is, and on the fact that tourism is far from its only industry. MORE from Telegraph (UK)
