This is the month of the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, but that’s only a small piece of the events on tap in Spain for July.

A roundup in TheLocal.es offers a sample that has something for everyone. Among the items:

Two months of classical theatre in Merida’s well-preserved Roman theatre

Veranos de la Villa, Madrid’s summer in the city, features film, theatre, music and dance in different venues from July 3 through August

Cordoba’s International Guitar Festival includes not only concerts, but classes in playing and making guitars

Rock and Pop festivals in Benicassim (July 16-19) and Benidorm (July 24-26)

In Pontevedra, in Galicia, hundreds of wild horses are rounded up to have their tails and manes sheared; there’s a big party afterwards. Been going on for 400 years.

Madrid celebrates gay pride July 1-5 with all kinds of events; its parade is one of the biggest in Europe.

And for those in love with death-defying stunts, there’s not only the Pamplona bulls (July 6-14) but also a freestyle motocross championship July 10 in Madrid’s La Ventas bullring.
