Disney wants to know you better. In a step that goes beyond season passes and marketing data, the company has patented a system to identify and track the shoes of visitors to its parks.
That's a step beyond the bands and bracelets that not only allow you into attractions and venues but also track what you buy and what you ride. Those are for visitors who choose to buy them; the new system would give Disney data and tracking ability for every visitor to every park.
Disney says it has no immediate plans to actually use the system, but it did also file papers for a robot system that could use the data about you and your family to identify your location and create "a customized guest experience."
