Bird of Paradise flowers, Arab League Park, Casablanca

Early one weekend morning as I was exploring downtown Casablanca, I came across a number of Bird of Paradise plants in beautiful bloom.  They’re very lovely flowers, aptly named as they resemble bird’s heads and show brilliant orange and blue color.

Several of the blooms were backlite and looked rather dramatic in the soft light….

One of my favorite flowers!  Be aware that they are poisonous to cats and dogs, so you might not want to have them near your home.
