Breeze files trans-Atlantic plans

Breeze Airways, one of the 2021 crop of startup airlines, wants to spread its wings even further, filing plans for flights from the U.S. to Ireland and the Caribbean.

The seasonal flights to Ireland would be the first trans-Atlantic flights for the A220, the backbone of Breeze's growing fleet. Breeze founder David Neeleman told an interviewer last week that the airline had asked for FAA approval for the routes.

The A220, originally developed as the Bombardier C series, has a range of 6,297 km according to Airbus; Breeze's likely routes to Ireland from Boston and New York are 4,800 and 5,100 km.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
