While Britain may be preparing to leave Europe, Europeans are not leaving Britain behind, accounting for a good part of Britain's growing record vacation crowds.
A big part of that growth, expected to reach 38.1 million inbound visitors, is fueled by the drop in the British pound against other currencies since the U.K. voted to leave the European Union. The result is that British vacations are more affordable, by as much as 11% for holders of Euros and dollars. The visitors are expected to spend about $30 billion in the course of their visits.
Official figures released this week by Visit Britain for January 2017 show a 15% increase over last January, and summer airfare bookings are already up 19% over last year. So, if you're headed for Weymouth (above), expect to have a lot of company on the sand!
