Britain’s most unusual hotel has real buzz

Hotel chains are opening boutique hotel chains for special audiences worldwide, but none of them can match the buzz of Harrogate’s Grand Hotel Beedapest…designed as lodging for hard-working honeybees.

It’s a doll-house sized miniature, called the Grand Beedapest in homage to the film the Grand Budapest Hotel, and it’s located on the grounds of the Taylor’s tea company.

Its principal aim is to create more awareness and “bee friendliness” for the public, emphasizing the importance of bees as pollinators of many crops, and their declining numbers.
