If British Airways' recent design patents are any indication, there's a lot of change ahead for travelers. Skift, the travel industry news site, reports that BA has submitted a number of patents recently.
Among them, pairs of seats (one facing forward, one rear), a new floor grid that would allow locking of different types of seats to it, and more. That could even allow an airline to vary the first/business/economy mix on a day-by-day basis.
