Buenos Aires Skyline

The image many have of Buenos Aires is of a city with a lot of older buildings in a state of “elegant decay”.  There are sections of the city that have undergone modernization, and the eastern part of Buenos Aires has developed an attractive modern skyline.

On balance, I prefer the “elegant decay” – but obviously one cannot expect the newer parts of a city to be built in the same style as the old centre. The cafes along the promenade look inviting.
