Robert Burns was a 18th century Scottish poet who wrote "Auld Lang Syne " and "Scots Wha Hae." People all over the world celebrate his birthday, Jan. 25th, with whisky, haggis and poetry.
This year the Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, Ayrshire had a fundraiser 'Burns Supper' with tickets costing around £250.
Museum director David Hopes said: “We need £350,000 to restore it and are already making good inroads into that figure. But if we fail to raise the money the monument would have to close within 12 months."
