Business is up at Switzerland's Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, even as the number of skiers declined.
The station saw just over a million passengers in 2018, the third time in four years it's hit that mark; this year's 1,067,000 set a record. Although the railroad was originally built to support the ski trade, warm weather and lack of snow hurt this year.
Railroad officials attribute much of the high volume to summer visitors, especially from Asia, and plan to emphasize that market in advertising.
The station, which opened in 1912, is 3454 metres above sea level, is underground, connected to the Top of Europe building and the Ice Palace by tunnels. Its neighbor is Europe's highest post office.
