California Poppies, Wawona

California poppies bloom in the spring and if you’re lucky you might see an entire meadow filled with their blossoms.  They are the state flower of California and are widely grown in people’s flower gardens because of their hardiness and colorful blooms.

These particular flowers were photographed outside the Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park.
