Canada yesterday got its first non-stop connection to India, with the launch of Air Canada's four-times-a-week flight AC70. The flight uses one of Air Canada's brand-new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
The Toronto-to-Delhi flight will increase to a daily service next year. The plane is set up as a 3-cabin service, with business class, premium economy and economy sections. The flight is expected to draw business both from people visiting relatives in India, vacationers, and business travelers to an increasingly important economic partner for Canada.
Air Canada's president pointed out that "This route is an important addition to our ongoing international expansion. India is the largest market that until today was not served by Air Canada so the start of service to Delhi strategically enhances our international network, anchored at our Toronto-Pearson global hub."
As the Air Canada graphic above indicates, the 787 opens many possible routes for the airline, and officials say they expect more soon.
