Carnival Cruise Lines announced Wednesday that it has begun taking reservations for the first cruise to Cuba from the US in more than half a century. It still needs the Cuban permits but the cruise line is confident they will get them.
The cruise is scheduled May 1st through 7th with prices starting at $2000 per person.
Carnival Spokesman, Roger Frizzell wrote:
"We are highly optimistic that we will receive approval soon from Cuban officials to cruise to Cuba based on the ongoing discussions. We are planning to sail May 1."
