Carnival of Cultures lights up Berlin this weekend

Berlin's Karneval der Kulturen (Carnival of Cultures) kicks off for four days this weekend, with a parade, interactive workshops, and music, art and food of all kinds—all in celebration of diversity and openness. It's been celebrated since the 1990s as a reaction against growing racism and nationalism in the 90s.

Last year, the event attracted 1.4 million people, one of Berlin's largest events. Over a thousand musicians and artists will be part of the events. For a rundown of the best events, in English, click HERE, or for the festival's own website, HERE.
