Chili Peppers as Art, Santa Fe

I’d never thought much about using red chili peppers as art, but I did like how Santa Fe presents them.

All around the city you’ll see long strings (of varying length) of chilis tied and bunched together.  I gather this type of presentation was used to preserve them for cooking in the past — you’d cut off as many as you needed to prepare your meal.

If you’re interested in taking them home, shorter versions are available for sale at many shops around the city.
