Copenhagen, which already has a reputation as a visitor-friendly city, is planning to take it a bit further by turning the traffic wardens who give out parking tickets into part-time guides as well. Equipped with “Ask Me” badges, and a new training course, they’ll be able to help give directions and even a bit of background on the city’s history and attractions. Eleven of the wardens are included in the first group.
“We would like to give tourists an even better service when they visit Copenhagen,” Thomas Jakobsen, the head of the municipality’s culture and leisure management, told the Copenhagen Post. “It should be easy for tourists to get the information they need, so we have asked traffic wardens to share their knowledge of the city and its attractions or just to help out lost tourists.” MORE
