ANA and Japan Airlines eliminated the fuel surcharges on flights originating overseas in December and will review their fuel surcharges on flights from Japan soon. ANA is set to make a announcement on those surcharges mid-month. The surcharges added as much as $563 round trip from Europe and the US.
For years, the airlines’ single largest cost was the price of fuel and now with prices at around 12 year lows, the foreign carriers to Japan have already had great sales this year. For example China Eastern’s, San Francisco to Tokyo round trip fares from $457. This trend is set to continue as more airlines eliminate fuel surcharges.

With fuel charges at a 12 year low all the Air carriers should stop gouging the public and give us all a refund.
