Cunyan Crags and Dunmoor Hill, Northumberland

It was a fine bright day when we decided to climb Cunyan Crags, the path to the base of the Crags being a gentle incline through the bracken.

Once at the base the path ascended swiftly upwards to the Crags, the views became unbelievable, visibility must have been 40 miles or so. We could clearly see the coast from this point.

Having spent some time exploring the Crags we decided that as the weather was so good, we would push on to the summit of Dunmoor Hill.

The summit of Dunmoor Hill, 2300 feet or so was nothing more than a rocky outcrop. However, the views of The Cheviot and Hedgehope were stunning.

Having spent a considerable time wandering around the summit, and generally just admiring the view, the weather started to change. Time for a hasty retreat back into the valley.

A fine walk, with brilliant views, all in a very enjoyable day!
