Dec. 20, 2019: Tai Chi on Parliament Hill, Ottawa

You’ll find a large assortment of humanity on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.  Most are tourists, but there are politicians, police and often activists and protestors.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this group of adults doing tai chi on parliament’s front lawn.  Tai chi was developed in China for self-defense but has evolved into a form of exercise that’s good for stress reduction. It’s characterized by smooth, flowing movements, associated with stretching and deep breathing.

A form of geriatric ballet.
