Disney Cruise Lines (is that the Mouse that Sailed?) has ordered two new cruise ships, to enter service in 2021 and 2023. That's a 50% increase over the current 4-ship fleet—and each of the new ships will be a bit bigger than the current crop.
The new ships will have 1250 cabins apiece, but passenger numbers weren't listed. Since Disney caters to families, many of those cabins will likely contain more than just two adults. Disney ships are known for family accommodations, including cabins with two bathrooms.
Names and itineraries for the new ships haven't been announced. Some commenters on CruiseCritic.com speculated that the larger ships might lead to lower prices for cruises, or to serving more interesting itineraries.
