No secret, I'm easily distracted by ducks.
And other birds, but ducks are somehow just a little bit special. Nothing hoity-toity about them, nothing flighty and twittery: They are the solid middle, the average Joe of the bird world. Although, sometimes, they can be a bit undignified...
These ducks have the pleasure of living in the gardens of a royal palace, the Alcazar of Seville, home (at least part-time) to Spanish monarchs since the 13th century. Although, it doesn't seem that important to the ducks.
Special kudos to this mother who seemed intent on training her ducklings and moving them about the premises despite hundreds of visitors wandering through the garden, and some of them staring at her and snapping photos.

The sizable fountain built to grace the realms of the kings seems perfectly adapted to their pleasure, with a special shallow area that's in use below for swimming lessons.
But this is not a world just for ducks; a rather combative looking peacock showed up, looking to have words...
The discussion went on for some time, but I was unable to find out the outcome, since that stern duck stare in the last picture sent me on my way.
