Eiffel Tower tickets hit new heights

It will soon cost 20% more to visit the Eiffel Tower, and that’s not even a temporary jump for the Olympics; it’s permanent and in part a hangover of the pandemic.

The price jump from €29.40 to €35.30 for an adult ticket has been approved by the Paris city council based on rising costs for needed renovation and maintenance and to make up for lost revenue during the pandemic when few could visit.

The tower, owned by the city, is operated by SETE, a corporation 99% owned by the Council. Part of the rationale for the increase is to recapitalize SETE and allow it to return to profitable status
