EU wants public opinion on new bills

The European Central Bank, which manages the Euro currency, is working on a new series of technically advanced hard-to-fake banknotes, and wants public input on the artwork that will adorn them.

There's a public survey online until August 31 for EU citizens to chime in on their favorite themes to replace the notes that have been in circulation since 2002. Results of the survey, which features seven possible themes, will guide the bank's choice of theme by next year, following a competition for design of the new notes based on the theme. First production is expected by 2026.

The seven themes are "our Europe, ourselves", "birds: free, resilient and inspiring", "European culture", "hands: together we build Europe", " the future belongs to you", "rivers: the waters of life in Europe" or "European values reflected in nature."

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
