Before the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, my overseas unit was responsible for training many Army units to deploy into various dangerous areas like Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, Middle East and other locations.

One of my deployed men, Joe, took a number of photos while stationed and traveling throughout Afghanistan and made a number or local friends.

He made it back safely after his deployment.
