John Hooper was commissioned by Canada Post to create his sculptural pieces "People Waiting" in 1975. The statues were made out of Honduran Mahogany. After completion, the statues were displayed in front of the Post Office on Rothesay Avenue in Saint John, New Brunswick. They were eventually donated to the city.
The statues stayed in front of the Post Office for 30 years until the city paid to have them restored. Then they were moved to the foot of King Street.
We were there in August, 2018 and the city was getting ready to take them inside and restore them. I couldn't find any updates in the restoration process and when and where they will be displayed again. I'll post in the comments when I do.
