For $345 you can fly back to the 70s on Pan Am

Well, sort of. The pricy ticket actually buys you a seat on the Pan Am Experience, a 4-hour simulated flight on a realistically simulated 747, complete with staff in period uniforms and a luxurious first-class meal…sourced from an actual airline caterer.

It’s served at Air Hollywood, an aviation-themed movie studio often used for films requiring authentic airport and plane scenes. Reservations for the current every-other-Saturday series are sold out through July, but new dates will be announced April 17. You can get on the waiting list through the SITE

The whole project is the brainchild of Peter Toth, who is a fan and collector of everything Pan Am.

Make that the ’70s – no 747s in the ’50s.

Perhaps they will compromise and allow e-cigarettes.  Smoking without the tobacco smoke.
