For Internet Day, a look at the first airline website

To celebrate Internet Day, we’re providing a link to Alaska Airlines’ blog, where they’ve posted the press release and sample home page of the first-ever website where you could buy an airline ticket. The date was Dec. 27, 1995, just over 20 years ago. You can see it HERE

Internet Day itself is tomorrow, October 29, and celebrates the day, only 47 years ago, when data was first sent via a remote connection from computers at one site to computers at another. That took place between computer labs at UCLA and Stanford—and it wasn’t exactly a smooth process: the computer at Stanford crashed between the ‘O’ and the ‘G’ in ‘login.’
