France, which recently announced a huge investment in tourism promotion and upgrades in hopes of having 100 million visitors a year soon, has also published a report on 13 proposed improvements in how visitors are welcomed.
The report's proposals range from the very simple and practical (providing leaflets about taxi fares and trains to arriving passengers at airports) to ones requiring more investment (modifying Metro entrances to make them easier for suitcases, building one-stop info kiosks at airports) to longer-term changes of tone (training tourism workers and border officials to be more proactive and visitor-friendly.
