Gallery: Native Art at Vancouver International Airport

I've always enjoyed traveling through Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in large part because of its interesting and extensive collection of Native (First Nations) art.  During my most recent visit to YVR I had a few hours to kill while awaiting the arrival of my brother's flight, so I wandered around and took some photos.

I later discovered that the art in the airport is a product of the YVR Art Foundation, a not-for-profit charity founded in 1993 by the YVR with the intent of supporting British Columbia and Yukon First Nations artists. Its funding is the reason for the abundance of art I really enjoy at YVR.

This post features some of the art I discovered in wandering about YVR.  The airport has a much more extensive collection of Northwest Art; if you're interested, you can find more examples at this link.
