Ganongs Bros., Limited is Canada's oldest candy company founded in 1873 by James and Gilbert Ganong. It's headquarters is in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. The above photo is the bench where people sat when they were waiting to meet with front office staff.
The old factory is now a museum where they showcase Ganong's history. The museum shows the history of chocolate and shows Ganong's process of making candies and chocolates.
Arthur Ganong was the first to make any sort of wrapped chocolate bar which they began selling in 1910 using the brand name of "Pal-o-Mine". The company also was the first to introduce a heart-shaped boxes of chocolates to North America. The boxes were originally used for presents over the Christmas season. Later they started selling the boxes for Valentine's Day.
A fun place to visit plus they have a chocolate store in the same building.
