Going for a (83 km) swim in the lake…

A Spanish open-water swimmer, Jaime Caballero, is the new holder of an unusual world record: He’s set a new speed mark for swimming the 83 km (over 50-mile) length of Lake Geneva.

Swimming from Villeneuve to Geneva, Caballero made it in 22h39m, three minutes faster than the previous mark, set in 1986. He’s not a stranger to long-distance swimming—he’s also completed the 140 km course around the island of Ibiza, and is the first Spaniard to have done a round-trip swim of the English Channel.
