The Tuileries gardens, stretching parallel to the Seine from the Louvre to the Place de la Concorde, are a favorite stroll, or a great place to stop and rest and read, or even nap. But no nap if you find yourselves as fascinated as we were with the pool where children were sailing these colorful boats! They can be rented by the hour for a small fee, and watched by the hour for free.
And if that wears on you and you're looking for a bit more noise...summer usually brings a carnival with rides and a Ferris wheel to the north edge of the gardens, along the Rue du Rivoli.
