While I was vacationing in Arizona this year, I managed to be on time to catch a few of the different types of Cacti blooming. This is the blossom of an Easter Lily Cactus or Echinopsis. They come in a variety of different sizes and colors and are amazing to view. They bloom sometimes at night and early morning but the blooms only last a few hours and then they are done and you wait another day for a few more buds to open. These ones were very large, about 6 - 8 inches in diameter when fully opened. The best website to view great pics as well as stunning time lapse photography is echinopsis.com.
