Gumbo's Pic of the Day, August 28, 2015: Notre Dame du Sablon, Brussels

The pretty church of Notre Dame du Sablon was built between the 15th and 16th centuries on a plot of land between two squares in central Brussels - named 'Grande' and 'Petite' Sablons. It is particulaly noted for its beautiful stained glass windows (illuminated from inside at night) and it's tall Gothic arches. In front of the church is a beautiful garden (predictably called Le Jardin du Petit Sablon) which is ringed by superbly-executed statues of members of the cities medieval Trades-Guilds. The one below is believed to be that of a master brewer with his barley shovel.
