Gumbo’s Pic of the Day, August 9, 2015: Peter Pine Daze, Yahk, B.C.

Peter Pine Daze, Yahk, B.C. Situated a few miles north of the USA – Canada border, above the Idaho Panhandle, is the small town of Yahk, British Columbia.  And I mean small — few hundred residents at most.  At the southern end of Yahk is an unusual building I’ve driven by many times.   I thought I should finally stop for a closer look and a few photos.

The building is “Peter Pine Daze”, presumably a play on Peter Pan although that’s just speculation.  I’ve never seen this place open for business but understand it’s an antique store.  If so, given the interesting assortment of items on display on the facade, it would be a fascinating place to shop in.  Next to Peter Pine Daze is an empty Caboose, probably linked another boyhood fantasy.

Close by is “Two Scoop Steve’s” ice cream shop, where I headed next.
