I hadn't even gotten in the door of Charleston, SC's historic post office and Federal courthouse when I was caught by this doorknob. And that was only the beginning of the gorgeous details, as you can see.
Sometimes, I find a building less interesting than its details. And I must have taken this one that way, because in hundreds of shots over a weekend, I find no pictures of the exterior of this 1896 building that was the center of Charleston's first "downtown revitalization" over a century ago. Here's a borrowed picture!
