Gumbo’s Pic of the Day, Dec. 22, 2013: Fantastic Skylight in Barcelona

https://www.travelgumbo.com/blog/architecture

1-aDSCN0935The fantastic skylight of Barcelona’s Palau de la Musica Catalana (Palace of Catalan Music) is a highlight of a building full of highlights. Built at the turn of the 20th century by “Barcelona’s Other Architect,” Lluis Domenech I Montaner, the Palau is still a premier concert hall for choral, pop, orchestral and even experimental music.

With or without a concert, it’s well worth a visit. For more information, take a look right here on TravelGumbo—a click HERE will take you to our blog on the architect and his work.

Thanks for the photo Pheymont.

I adore ornate ceilings.

Something from the past you don’t get repeated today.

This is in the Cunard Building in Liverpool. Built in 1914.

Before it moved its HQ to New York in the 60’s.
