The Acropolis, with the Parthenon, is the most famous site for remains of ancient Greece, but there are many others scattered throughout the city–sometimes as part of curated areas such as the Agora, sometimes standing by themselves in parks or at the edge of a road.

 

Hard-hit by economic crisis in recent years, Athens still welcomes visitors to its museums and history, as well as to today’s nightlife and varied restaurants.
