After a tough one hour hike up Lion's Head in Cape Town, we were rewarded with one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. The hike is very popular as it gives you a 360 view over Cape Town, Table Mountain, Camps Bay and the 12 Apostles. Many hikers choose to walk up the hill in the evening to catch the gorgeous sunset.
It's not really a difficult hike, but if excercise had been low on your to do list in the past few months (like me), it can be quite tough in some parts. The last stretch of the hike, you're faced with rocks which you'll have to climb. Giving up had been on my mind for the last 10 minutes when I reached the rocks, and my heart sank when I saw how far I still had to climb. Nevertheless, I pushed through, and after many breaks to catch my breath, I finally reached the top.
I couldn't have been more exhausted but incredibly proud of myself for reaching the top of Lion's Head. The views and sunset I was rewarded with, made it all worthwhile.
