Gumbo’s Pic of the Day, Nov. 12, 2014: Paris Compressed

Taken with 18x telephoto lens from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, this shot squeezes in a lot of familiar Paris, with even more suggested here and there in the middle. There’s a corner of the Louvre, the dome of Invalides, Notre Dame at center, and several other spires.

How many more can you identify? And no, this is NOT Where in the World is TravelGumbo; he was on the Arc, making this picture.

Well, I almost said Les Invalides, then saw it in the tags.  Is that Ste-Chapelle between Notre Dame and the Louvre?

I had friends who lived across the road from the Grand Palais and recognized the roof, but couldn’t remember the name.  I guess after 48 years some blanks are understandable.
