Historic Banco Nacional Building, San Jose

A popular Costa Rican bank is Banco Nacional, the largest bank in the country.  Its main headquarters building is in downtown San Jose, a towering structure around 20 stories tall.   But the bank had humble beginnings, as you can see in these photos.

The old Banco Nacional Building still stands, a small but interesting structure that is still actively used as a bank.  It seemed to me that most people who visited it admired its architectural details rather than using its ATMs, but I could be wrong about that.
